M.S. and Ph.D. in Community Health

The University of Illinois Department of Health and Kinesiology offers highly customizable MS and PhD programs in Community Health designed for students seeking both scientific rigor and academic flexibility. Students pursue an advanced program of study to prepare for careers in research, teaching, and industry. Students will have the opportunity to develop expertise to address the health-related problems facing our society today and in the future. Faculty with diverse interests and a flexible curriculum allow students to shape a program that aligns with their interests and career ambitions.

Master of Science in Community Health

The Community Health graduate program offers graduate study and research leading to a Master of Science degree.

Ph.D. in Community Health

The Ph.D. in Community Health at Illinois prepares students for academic and research careers that will enable them to find solutions to the health-related problems facing our society today and into the future. 

Students focus their studies in one of six major areas of concentration, allowing them to do work that is important to them. Our program trains future community health researchers and practitioners as they address some of our greatest challenges.
