I-Health
One of the great things about Interdisciplinary Health Sciences is that we seek to solve problems in new and innovative ways. For us, this means that we look at problems from different angles and bring a wide array of disciplines to the table.
Because of this foundation, our undergraduate students are able to participate in health-related research opportunities throughout our diverse campus. We have even had students as young as sophomores published in a research study.
Undergraduate Research Opportunities
Research plays a significant role in the life of AHS students at Illinois. There are opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students alike to participate in research and not only learn, but create knowledge.
Undergraduates interested in participating in research can contact their advisor or the Office of Undergraduate Research.
Chittenden Symposium
Faculty, students, and researchers from the Department of Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering and Department of Health and Kinesiology gathered at the iHotel for the 2025 Chittenden Symposium: “Lifelong Health by Design – Human-Centered Innovations in Chronic Disease Prevention.” The event united experts across disciplines to explore how engineering precision and health science insight can combine to design systems that foster long-term, equitable health outcomes.
