Designed to meet students where they are in their professional journey, the MHA offers two distinct pathways: an on-campus program tailored for recent undergraduates and those seeking an immersive, in-person learning experience, and an online program built for mid-career professionals advancing their leadership in healthcare. Graduates from both pathways leave ready to manage people, programs, and systems—making an immediate impact in healthcare and beyond.

Established in 2017, the Master of Health Administration (MHA) at the University of Illinois began as an on-campus program dedicated to preparing emerging healthcare leaders. In 2023, the program received a grant to expand its reach and develop new online pathways for working professionals, set to launch in 2026 alongside graduate certificates that enhance specialized training in the field. These additions reflect the program’s continued commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible education under the distinguished University of Illinois name.
