Undergraduate Advising

Welcome to HK undergraduate advising! We’re excited to work with you regarding your academic and career plans.

Community Health Advising

Community health advisors are here to assist you with registration and course selection, provide you with information about campus resources, discuss career interests and help prepare you for life beyond the University of Illinois.

We want to partner with you to ensure that your time in Community Health at Illinois effectively prepares you for your next step, whether that is a career, graduate school or something else.

Community Health students receive news about opportunities and important deadlines through the CHLH Advising & Announcements CANVAS site.

If your last name begins with A-K, Hollie Heintz (hheintz@illinois.edu)  will be your academic advisor.

If your last name begins with L-Z, Patty Hudek (phudek@illinois.edu) will be your academic advisor.

Non-major students can also connect with advisors via email with the advisor for their part of the alphabet.

Our offices are located in Huff Hall. Hollie is at 126 Huff Hall; Patty is at 125 Huff Hall.

Scheduling an Appointment

Pre-registration appointments are mandatory for all Community Health students around the fourth week of classes. Students schedule these appointments through an online scheduler, a link to the online scheduler will be sent to current Community Health students when the system opens.

You may schedule meetings with advisors regarding other topics unrelated to course planning throughout the year via our individual email addresses. Each advisor will also have weekly drop-ins available that will be posted on their office door and on the CANVAS site.

I-Health Advising

The College of Applied Health Sciences and Interdisciplinary Health Sciences place significant emphasis on advising and the important role it plays in the lives of students. Students are required to meet with their advisor at least once per semester. Most students meet with their advisor more often than that. The I-Health program presents so many career possibilities and opportunities that working with advisors helps students to narrow their focus on careers that are best for them.

Advising is at the heart of the I-Health program. Our advisors are here to partner with you to channel your talents and passions towards a career that maximizes them.

If your last name begins with A-K, Annie White (alwhite@illinois.edu) will be your academic advisor. Annie’s office is in 294 Freer Hall. Reach Annie by phone at 217-265-4069.

If your last name begins with L-Z, Andrea Wisdom (akmorgan@illinois.edu) will be your academic advisor. Andrea’s office is in 292 Freer Hall. Reach Andrea by phone at 217-300-3394.

These appointments are required. If you miss your appointment, a hold will be put on your account and you will not be allowed to register for classes.

Other appointments: If you would like to see your advisor for non-required appointments throughout the school year, please reach out via email or view walk-in advising hours on the I-Health Advising Canvas page.
