In September, MSHA students visited UIUC’s own student health facility, McKinley Health Center. While there, students met with McKinley’s Senior Leadership Group which included leaders in Administration, IT, Business, Risk, Quality, Health Records, and Health Education. Students learned about available services at McKinley and also current trends, issues and innovations in college health.
Kirby Medical Center (KMC) in Monticello, IL welcomed the MSHA students in November. KMC is a critical access hospital located 20 miles west of Champaign-Urbana. Meeting with the CEO, COO, CFO, and Chief Clinical Officer provided our students a chance to learn how the mission, vision, services and operations of a hospital serving a more rural community differs from a larger community hospital or hospital system.
